Meetings (other than the AGM *) are open to anyone who is interested in Repeaters, Voice-Over-IP links, Digital Voice, Data modes, Emerging Technology and VHF/UHF techniques etc., whether or not they are members of the group. Visitors are always welcome - there are no per-meeting subs to pay, and you will not be pressurised to join the group.
Our primary interest and expertise is in the world above 30MHz. However some of our members are active on HF too. So whilst we tend not to focus on HF topics, such things are not "out of bounds" for the group.
Do you want to know more about repeaters, VOIP and so on? Maybe you have stuff to show off, ideas to throw around, or equipment for sale / swap? Or maybe you'd just like to socialise and put faces to local voices? Then why not come along and meet us...
(* Sorry, the AGM is open to members only, but non-members are welcome to come in after the formal business is concluded)
Meetings are held monthly, usually on the third Tuesday of the month (see below for forthcoming dates) at The Queens Head, Wolverley, Kidderminster, DY11 5XB. The official start time is 8pm, but many people get there a bit earlier. Any talks/demos etc. would be finished by 9:30 at the latest, but the venue is open till 11pm if you wish to stay on.
Other than the AGM, meetings are (at the members' request) generally informal, with administrative matters entrusted to the committee. There is no set format, but we aim to have the occasional short talk or demonstration on a VHF/UHF, repeater, or new technology topic. There is plenty of time for members to mix and socialise. The local repeater sysop is usually there to answer queries and offer advice.
